How do I prepare for my garden?

JesB asked:

I’ve never had a backyard, so I’ve been growing vegetables in separate pots. In a few weeks, I’ll be moving into a house with a big enough yard for me to have a vegetable garden. However, since I’ve never done this, I have no idea how to prepare the area. I plan on making it organic, as well. What should I do to the area this summer to prepare for planting next year?

2nd Home is it better to get an equity Loan to purchase or a 1st mortgage?

helenta35 asked:

We own our house fully No mortgage value approx $550k. We are thinking that we like to retire early to near the beach. Currently we found nice homes with land in that area for $175k. Is it better to get a home equity for the full cost of the Beach home plus any other small debit (approx $75k 2 cars and a timeshare) or continue to pay on the individual debits and add a Mortgage for the Beach house?
The ultimate goal would be to get settled into the 2nd home and then sell the current home pay off the balance and then put the rest in an investment with monthly dividends to use as retirement income until we reach retirement age and also maybe get a parttime job.

I have some homemade speaker boxes, all they need is the sub woofer. I got the tweeter in there with a crossover. I found some 4 ohm 10 kicker subs for a good deal and was wondering if they would sound ok coming from a 8 ohm home pioneer stereo.

Can I grow potatoes in my garden?

paulmurphy42 asked:

I have a very small garden in a suburb, about 20′ by 60.’ It has good sunlight. Most of it is a lawn with a small border full of plants. Is there any chance at all that I could grow enough potatoes to eat so that I don’t need to buy them from a supermarket - or is that completely unrealistic, just a pipe dream? I was wondering if I could buy seeds (or whatever it is you have to buy!) and just try growing some potatoes at the end or in a corner…just to keep my bills down and also out of sheer curiousity…

I am the first to admit that I know absolutely nothing about gardening…or farming. If I’m talking b/s please put me out of my misery now…but I just can’t help wondering…

Many thanks.

mufasa1023 asked:

I am contemplating buying a modular home to put on a piece of property in MI, the cost of the home itself is $73K. Does anyone have a rough estimate what it costs to install the home and do all the interior work such as foundation, utilities, interior walls, plumbing, electrical, heating, cabinets etc?
